Landscape.fyi is a product of Pangolin Gears ("Company", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

• Photos & Metadata: photos you upload, along with optional EXIF data (camera model, focal length, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, capture time) and GPS coordinates
• Location Data: saved locations, search queries, and geolocation (when permitted by your browser)
• Usage Data: interactions with the Service including page views, feature usage, and preferences
• Phone Number: optionally provided for SMS weather alerts; stored securely and used solely for delivering notifications you have opted into
• Payment Information: processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your credit card details

• Moderating content to maintain community standards

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• Supabase: database hosting, authentication, and file storage
• Vercel: web hosting and serverless functions
• Stripe: payment processing for subscriptions
• Google Places API: location and place data enrichment
• Open-Meteo: weather forecast data
• CAMS/Copernicus: air quality and atmospheric data
• Twilio: SMS delivery for phone verification and weather alert notifications
• 7Timer: astronomical transparency and seeing data

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing its use of your data. We encourage you to review their policies.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Your browser settings allow you to control cookie behavior.

5. SMS Notifications

Pro and Pro+ subscribers may opt in to receive SMS notifications for golden hour and weather alerts. To enable SMS alerts, you must provide and verify your phone number in your account settings. By doing so, you expressly consent to receive automated text messages from Landscape.fyi.

• Message frequency varies based on weather conditions and your saved locations
• Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier
• You can opt out at any time by removing your phone number or disabling SMS alerts in your account settings
• Your phone number is used solely for delivering notifications and phone verification
• We do not share your phone number or opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes
• SMS delivery is provided by Twilio; your phone number is shared with Twilio only for the purpose of delivering messages

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With your consent or at your direction
• With service providers who assist in operating the platform (listed above)
• To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or governmental requests
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of Landscape.fyi, our users, or the public

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information and photos within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain data. Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

8. Data Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, your profile, uploaded photos, and associated data will be permanently removed from our systems. This action is irreversible. We recommend downloading any content you wish to keep before deleting your account.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data

• Restriction: request that we limit processing of your data

10. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will promptly delete the account and associated data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
