Private spots
Every photographer has places they don't share yet. Keep them on your own map — with their own forecast — and share them when you choose.
How it works
- 1
Drop a pin
On the map, switch to "My private spots" and drag the pin to where you actually shoot — the rock ledge, not the parking lot. You can also start from any searched place: "Add a spot" opens the map with the pin there.
- 2
Name it and keep it
Give it your own name, a category and notes ("best from the left rock, winter sunsets"), plus up to 5 note photos. Only you can see it.
- 3
Watch its weather
It sits on your dashboard with the full forecast and your photography score. Want to be told when conditions are good? Move it into your Active alerts, like any other location.
- 4
Share it when you are ready
Choose "Share with community" and add a photo you took there. Our team reviews the spot and the photo; once approved it appears on the public map with you credited as its discoverer. If not, it simply stays private.
Found a place that isn't on the map?
Every member
Search for the place and suggest it to the community with a photo you took there. Our team reviews it, and once approved it's on the map with you credited.
Pro+ members
Also drop a pin anywhere and keep up to 99 spots private — with notes and forecast — sharing only the ones you want to.
What the labels mean
- Private
- Only you can see it.
- In review
- You shared it; our team is looking at the spot and your photo. Still private meanwhile.
- Not approved
- The share wasn't approved (the reason is shown). The spot stays private; you can share it again later.
